Born and raised in Australia, Cathie van der Stel has spent most of her adult life in England and Holland, since 2001 she has been living and working in the South of France. 

After several years exporting French antiques and bric-a-brac to her shop 'Found in France' in Queensland, Australia she is now fully focused on her art.

Now a full-time artist, Cathie specialises in portraits, architectural renderings and reproducing some of the lovely old pieces of furniture and collectables she has found at local markets in France.

Cathie has attended extracurricular art training at the Académie Supérieur des Beaux-Arts in Grasse. She is also a member of an ever-evolving group of artists "the Aquarellista's" in Chateauneuf de Grasse. She also shares her watercolour methods whilst teaching at The Hangar in Valbonne.
